Ballot Placement Set, Candidates Certified,

For Election of APWU National Officers

 

Secretary-Treasurer Terry Stapleton has certified the following union members as candidates for election to national office by referendum balloting, as mandated by the APWU Constitution and Bylaws.

 

A drawing to determine the order candidates’ names will appear on the ballot was held on Monday, June 28, 2004, at 10 a.m. Incumbent officers are listed first, and are denoted by (I) appearing after their name.

 

Secretary-Treasurer Stapleton cast a single vote for the candidates in the uncontested races and declared them elected, in accordance with the Constitution. Their names will not appear on the ballot.

Eligibility to Vote

To be eligible to vote, members of the American Postal Workers Union must have been “in good standing” according to the official records of the national union on June 15 of the election year.

 

Mailing of the Ballots

Ballots are scheduled to be mailed to APWU members on or after Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, but no later than Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004.

 

Members in good standing who have not received a ballot by Sept. 20 should notify their local or the national union to request a duplicate. The national telephone number for requesting duplicate ballots is 202-842-8505; the fax number is 202-216-2650.

 

To be valid, ballots must be in the designated post office box by Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
